Me and My Self-Care – Day 3 & 4

It’s been a fantastic couple of days for #EventWell18. A buzzing Square Meal Venues & Events Live Show with 2 amazing master classes and a great panel session delivered over the past 48 hours, where I’ve also had to juggle and keep up to speed with all the buzz and activity on social media, do my other job of taking care of EWL Club, and not forget about the little human being I created 2 and 1/2 years ago, my daughter. Continue reading “Me and My Self-Care – Day 3 & 4”

Me and My Self-Care – Day 2

It’s been one of those days, we all have them, not many of us talk openly about them. We tend to see mainly positive posts on social from eventprofs don’t we, nobody really tends to go to social to say “you know what today could have been better, things have not gone exactly to plan”, so my planned 10km training run was just what the doctor called for this evening. Continue reading “Me and My Self-Care – Day 2”

Me and My Self-Care – Day 1

It’s the second, yes the second, Event Wellbeing Week this week. A few years ago I would never have dreamed that we’d have even had a Wellbeing Day in the events industry, let alone be at the end of the first day of a whole week, and the second time around. How far we have come! Continue reading “Me and My Self-Care – Day 1”

I don’t know how she does it?

The one question I’m constantly asked, although really it tends to be more of a statement as most of the people who ask aren’t really interested in hearing my reply, is “I don’t know how you do it all in 2 days a week”. Continue reading “I don’t know how she does it?”

The return of a London Gem (Preview)

It was a delight to have the opportunity to visit this fantastic hotel on Friday afternoon. More so because it’s a hotel that I had the pleasure of escorting people around 9 years ago during my time as New Business Development Manager for the Principal Hayley Group, Continue reading “The return of a London Gem (Preview)”

How to be the best own Boss you can be!

You may have noticed, I think I’ve mentioned it a few times now, but I’m my own Boss.

Being my own boss has redefined my view on focus and prioritisation over the past 3 years Continue reading “How to be the best own Boss you can be!”

Conquering my public speaking fears

We all have a fear or displeasure of something don’t we? Those of us who’ll admit to them anyway. Flying, heights, spiders, cartoon characters in the flesh, public speaking (I’m not a huge fan of any of these!). Continue reading “Conquering my public speaking fears”

Sexual Exploitation and Harassment, is it all just a big exaggeration?

The above was the question put forward by a gentleman at the end of the EventHuddle debate I had the pleasure of chairing today, although he was really making more of a statement than asking a question. Continue reading “Sexual Exploitation and Harassment, is it all just a big exaggeration?”

Collaborative working, a win win for everyone.

I was surprised this week when advised that a fellow organiser in the industry didn’t want me to sit on a educational panel because of a conflict of interest between our businesses. Continue reading “Collaborative working, a win win for everyone.”
