There’s a fantastic new venue opening in the City that just had to make it into the Diary of an #Eventprof venue spotlight for August.
Camm & Hooper the new events company who have brought us the likes of Banking Hall and Tanner Warehouse will deliver their fourth venue, the newly refurbished Victorian Bath House in Bishopsgate Churchyard in December 2015.
As the name suggest Victorian Bath House has been home to baths of one kind or another since 1817 and more famously Turkish Baths owned by the likes of Jones & Co. and Henry and James Forder Nevill.
So what is a Victorian Turkish Bath? A re-invention of the Roman bath, it’s a type of bath where the bather sweats freely in a room heated by hot dry air (or in a series of two or three such rooms) maintained at progressively high temperatures, usually followed by a cold plunge, a full body wash and massage (the Victorians called this shampooing), with a final period of relaxation in a cooling-room.
This fantastic Grade II listed venue, when completed later this year, will offer opulent space for up to 150 guests for a standing reception and seated lunches and dinners for 20 up to 90 guests, and there is also a stunning outside terrace.
The food will be as equally opulent as the finished decor and the kitchen will be headed up by Caroline Gardner and Alan Lucas using seasonal produce with a touch of innovation and creativity.
I highly recommend you check out this venue, Banking Hall is already becoming a firm favourite and I promise you will not be disappointed with this latest project.
You can get in touch with the team in the following ways: Email firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone 020 3617 9944. You can also follow them on Twitter @VBathhouse, Facebook The Victorian Bath House and Instagram @victorianbathhouse.
They may not be able to help with a full body wash but they could certainly assist with a cool space for a period of relaxation!
Until next time #Eventprofs…
