If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit Kent House in Knightsbridge then I highly recommend you take a look. I had the pleasure of attending their venue showcase last Thursday evening and I was taken aback by how elegant the venue was.
A hidden gem located just a short walk from Knightsbridge tube station and the Bulgari Hotel, on the secluded and very private Rutland Gardens just off Knightbridge, Kent House were showcasing their 2015 event packages ‘Fabulously British’ for summer and ‘Hollywood Thrills’ for winter.
Guests were welcomed to the Fabulously British reception with Nyetimber ‘English Champagne’, of course I mean sparkling wine to any French readers, with a refreshing raspberry and elderflower choice for the non-drinkers. Canapés served included a scrummy Beef Wellie, an Old Speckled Hen with venison sausage and an edible garden.
Guests could help themselves to a spot of Ploughmans after ordering their spring bloom bouquets from Hayford & Rhodes and sampling a Champagne Ice Popsicle, a world first apparently, from Pops. There was even a surprise visit from Prince Harry who kept himself entertained topping up the ladies glasses, or rather Prince Harry look a like Roddy Walker.
My favourite by far were the bespoke biscuits prepared by the team at Biscuiteers. It obviously doesn’t take much to make Mrs Moon happy as I am quite attached and yet to eat my personalised London tube sign chocolate biscuit, I can’t quite bring myself to do it! A fantastic idea though if you’re looking for something a little different and more personal for a give away or a place setting.
The ground floor of Kent House is a stunning setting for a reception. What I particularly liked is the look and feel of a beautiful private home with the Marble Hall and it’s period features, ornate high ceilings and grand staircase to the main function suite The Sanctuary upstairs. This venue lends itself to exclusive hire, it’s perfect for a corporate event or product launch where you can take over the entire space on offer and style and brand it as your own.
There’s natural daylight throughout and a stunning roof top garden terrace on the first floor. Numbers wise they can accommodate anything from 20 up to 150 for a dinner, 300 for a reception and 250 for a conference.
The Sanctuary suite on the first floor is equally stunning. The Hollywood Thrills theme looked fantastic, the lighting was great, there was an impressive Hollywood cocktail bar which really set the theme in the room, stylish black comfy seating and sofas, and of course it’s not a party unless you have a black and white sparkly dance floor!
The Jazz trio by Kru Talent provided the perfect ambience performing a few classics and adding a touch of vintage glamour and sophistication.
Acclaim Food provided more delicious and slightly interesting food. Classic American Burgers with Jack Cheese, a Hawaiian option for guests with fruitier taste buds and a leek and Parmesan version for vegetarians. The dessert bar tempted me, you could choose from a strawberry Daiquiri, coffee and cream Martini or a Margarita and I said interesting mainly due to the choice at the Hollywood popcorn bar, the mint choc chip and toffee apple and cinnamon popcorn were surprisingly tasty however, I had to pass on the goats cheese option.
A great evening! Evolve, the event management company who manage Kent House put on an impressive and well organised event and a superb showcase of what they will offer this year for summer and winter events. There are endless possibilities and this fabulous venue is definitely now on my radar, I can’t recommend enough that you contact the team for a show round.
Until next time #Eventprofs…
